Advanced Certification

Material Test Certificates in accordance with BS EN 10204 — the documents that prove a traceable batch of material meets a customer's specification. Advanced Certification holds the measured chemical and mechanical test results for each batch, checks every reading against the standard it was ordered to, and generates, issues and keeps the certificate itself.

Standard

A specification — ASTM A105, say — listing the tests required, their methods, units and the allowed minimum and maximum values.

Cast

A traceable batch of material, identified by a cast number and heat number. Everything traces back to a cast.

Test set

The recorded laboratory results for a cast against one standard — chemical analysis, tensile, impact, hardness. A test set passes when every result is within specification.

Certificate

The issued document for a customer and job, built from one of the cast’s validated test sets — generated, issued and kept by the system.
